Bonds passes Ruth
Barry Bonds hit homerun 715 this afternoon to pass Babe Ruth and move in 2nd place in the all time list. I think I speak for everyone when I say, its about time. Bonds isn’t himself anymore. His swing looks painful and watching him hobble around the outfield is humourous at best. Its time for Bonds to either move to the AL for a final hurrah as a DH (Detroit to be reuinited with Jim Leyland?) or retire.
But the best part of Bonds hitting this home run is no more OMG BARRY BONDS IS EVIL articles. Did Bonds do steriods? Yes. Did everyone else in this era? You’re damn right. This media driven campaign to rip the guy apart is pathetic. As much as people don’t want to admit it, sports is all about getting any edge you can. Hockey players take Sudafeds, baseball players popped greenies like it was going out of style, who the heck knows what else is going on.
Bonds was mean to the media, so like the immature whiners they are, they’ve been out for revenge. Hopefully they’ll consider this mission accomplished, it seems like 99% of all fans hate Bonds now. I’ll admit that I support Bonds, but this isn’t about supporting Bonds. I just don’t want to see anymore articles on how much his head has grown. I think we’ve all got it by now. The guy did steriods and he’s a bad man. Now please quit writing about it.
