The Shed Must have been Locked!
Indians pitcher Scott Sauerbeck was arrested late Tuesday evening after fleeing his automobile because his vehicle was pulled over by police. Sauerbeck wasn’t driving, but fled the vehicle along with the driver who was intoxicated. Sauerbeck later expressed regret to police, saying he and his female companion ran in fear since they had both been drinking.
Now according to Sauerbeck’s Indians bio he’s married to a woman named Carly. This woman who was driving his car home in the middle of the night after drinking was not named Carly. I wonder if that had anything to do with why they ran?
But what’s more sad than the arrest is Sauerbeck’s complete lack of hide-and-go seek skills. I mean hiding in bushes and talking loud enough that people hear you? That’s just bad form.
Of course if you are going to run from police, its probably not a good idea to leave your car out on the road. I’ve heard stories that police have this new fangled technology that can actually trace license plates to their owners. Just something to keep in mind for next time you go out for a few pops Scotty.
UPDATE: Sauerbeck has apologized. It was just to his family though, not for his pathetic hiding skills or for being an utter disaster when he was with the Red Sox. Its a start I guess.
