You had to know that runs were going to be hard to come by in the Mets-Diamondback
s game last night. With Pedro Martinez and Brandon Webb going toe to toe, a low scoring affair was to be expected. However I doubt anyone would have guessed it would take 13 innings to get the first run on the board.
Endy Chavez’s RBI single in the bottom 13th inning was all the offense in the game, as the Mets pulled out the 1-0 victory. Webb, who went 7 shutout innings, remains at 8-0 while lowering his NL leading ERA to 2.01. Pedro went 8 scoreless innings and has a 5-1 record with an ERA of 2.50.
In a completely unrelated note Matt Clement’s ERA is currently 6.91.
