The bucket above along with this thunderous dunk by Dirk were just 4 of his 50 points along with 12 rebounds Thursday night, including 15 straight points in the 4th quarter to pace the Mavericks over the Suns in game 5.
With the crowd chanting, “MVP, MVP,” Nowitzki was just too much for Phoenix to handle.
Call it a statement, call it redemption, Dirk was relaying a message to everyone that he was worthy of the leagues most valuable player award.
Dallas got off to a tremendous start early in the 1st quarter, but the Suns rallied back as they always seem to do until Dirk had enough. The Mavs can advance to the finals on Saturday, an 8:30p.m. tip-off on TNT.
