Bad move Bruins

All eyes were on Joe Thornton as he captured the Hart Trophy for Most Valuable Player this season.  Joe finished the season with 29 goals and 125 points, 92 of which, came after the trade from Boston.

Joe was deserving of the award over Jaromir Jagr & Miikka Kiprusoff after the terrible start the Sharks got off to.  Picked by many to make it to the Stanley Cup Finals, San Jose slumped out of the gate in the first quarter of the season and needed the trade to spark the teams winning ways and make a star out of Jonathan Cheechoo.

It will go down as one of the worst decisions ever made by the Boston Bruins.  I mean, what was going through Mike O’Connell head when he decided to pull the trigger on this one?  Marco Sturm & Brad Stuart are nice players and all, but Joe Thornton is an elite player and we all witnessed the impact he had with his arrival in San Jose.  To handle the whole situation the way he did showed nothing but what a class act he is.

Joe Thornton & Jonathan Cheechoo remind you somewhat of those two guys that starred in the 80’s for the Oilers named Gretzky and Kurri don’t they.  It’s gonna be a bitter pill for Bruin fans to swallow having to watch their former captain rip through the league and possibly contend for the Cup in the next coming years, while the Bruins will continue to flounder near the basement in the East.  Whatcha gonna do Bruin fan, whatcha gonna do.
