The Greatest World Cup Preview in the History of the World: Round Two (Part 1)

Its your lucky day. The resident soccer genius back again for Round two. Sadly for all of our American readers, I am withdrawing myself from consideration for your soccer team’s coaching position. I don’t want to be associated with losers.

So how did I do in the group play? Well besides the group of DEATH~~!!, I was a star. I don’t want to rub it in your face (or have anyone notice that I picked Serbia-Montenagro to advance), so lets not belabour the point. On to the picks:

Sweden (1-2-0) vs Germany (3-0-0)

Germany is at home, Sweden tied Trinidad and Tobago. Germany wins this. But look, I added girls in bikinis to these previews, Lee Gibbons = man of the people.
The Pick: Germany

Argentina (2-1-0) vs Mexico (1-1-1)

Both of these teams looked strong after the opening couple of games and then laid an egg in their final matches. Argentina was probably slacking off as they’ve been known to do and Mexico always loses in this round.

The Pick: Argentina

England (2-1-0) vs Ecuador (2-0-1)

England fans are griping and they haven’t even lost a game yet. Michael Owen’s injury will hurt, but that lankster Peter Crouch has looked good. Ecuador had a nice run, but it ends here.

The Pick: England

Portugal (3-0-0) vs Netherlands (2-1-0)

1st of all, I hope everyone is reading and learning and not just looking at the pictures. I mean I’m putting some serious effort into this. Both of these countries are known for breaking their fan’s hearts at this point, but no one does it better than Portugal.

The Pick: Netherlands

Coming up in a few days: Italy-Australia, Switzerland-Ukraine, Brazil-Ghana, Spain-France
