Enough of the Ref’s already

Another day of horrible refereeing was displayed yesterday, this time in the Italy/Australia game.

A game filled with Yellow cards and a questionable call against Lucas Neill for tripping Fabio Grosso gave the Italian squad a chance to win and Francesco Totti delivered for his country.

You can’t blame the Australian’s for feeling like they were cheated.  “It’s cruel, very cruel,” Australian striker Mark Viduka said. “This was a game where we really dominated. We had the feeling that if the game went into extra time we were going to beat them.”

Meanwhile, in the other match of the day filled with more yellow cards, it came down to penalty kicks between The Swiss and the Ukraine.  Goals from Artem Milevskiy, Serhiy Rebrov, and Oleg Gusev helped send Ukraine to the next round.
