Now’s that a big soccer ball. So rumor has it we are hitting the big games in this here World Cup. So let’s share the knowledge and make some picks. NOW UPDATED WITH SATURDAY’S GAMES.
Germany vs Argentina
Now this will be a good game. The hometown guys vs the flashy Argentines. What will give? Who will prevail? Who will end up being carted out on a stretcher only to return to the game 30 seconds later? Well, I dunno about that. But if my mom taught me one thing in this life, its that soccer sucks. Oh and also that when in doubt go with the home team.
The Pick: Germany
Italy vs Ukraine
Its the upstart Ukrainians vs the lucky Italians. Italy has been pulling horseshoes out of their asses all World Cup, but give credit where it is due, no one dives like them. Ukraine, on the other hand, no one really knows what to expect. The only other really good team they played was Spain and they got demolished in that game. As long as one of their guys smashes that sucking the thumb Italy guy, I’ll be happy.
The Pick: Italy
England vs Portugal
These two teams seem to meet at every big championship of late, and on Saturday these budding rivals will do it up again. England fans are leading the World Cup in arrests and beer drinking skills, so they are ready for this big game. England has yet to play their best game, but they also have no lost to date. Portugal has looked strong at times, and beat the always tough Holland in the last round. That game came at a cost though, they have a couple guys suspended and another injured. England should be able to take advantage of the depleted Portugal roster and prevail.
The Pick: England
France vs Brazil
A rematch of the finals 8 years ago. Both of these teams are rounding into form after struggling early in the tournament. There are rumours that the most impressive Brazilian to date, KAKA!!!!, will miss this game and his loss would hurt. Renowned fat guy Ronaldo has start to pop some goals of late, and with Adriano they form the most lethal striker duo in this tournament. France finally scored some goals in their victory over Spain, but Thierry Henry has yet to really break out. He’ll need a big game for France to prevail.
The Pick: Brazil
