For the 4th time this season, and 1st time at this very track, Johnson took home the checkered flag.
Not bad for a driver who was at one point, 38th place in the race. The highlights however, came from the pre and post race interviews. Take a look.

#19, Steve Yzerman who ranks 6th on the NHL’s all-time scoring list behind Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier, Gordie Howe, Ron Francis, and Marcel Dionne with 1,755 points, played his entire 22 year career with the Detroit Red Wings, including being named team captain at the age of 21. Steve helped guide the Wings to 3 Stanley Cups along the way. 

Also among the several achievements in his career was winning a Gold medal with Team Canada at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Utah. Although not able to play in the 2006 olympics with Team Canada, he became the first player to have his number retired by the team.

As we say goodbye to Steve, we honour one of his many classic moments.

Happy Birthday Canada! Now what happened while we were all out pregaming it for today?

  • The Raptors dealt Charlie Villanueva to the Bucks for TJ Ford and cash. I like this deal for the Raps, although the janitors in the ACC are losing their favorite player. They never have to worry about hair clogging up the drain when Villanueva’s in the shower.
  • Andre Agassi’s final Wimbeldon came to and end early Saturday, when he lost to Rafael Nadal in straight sets. Agassi blamed the loss on Nadal’s capri pants.
  • The Tour de France started yesterday. Some guy named Thor leads it. I’m not sure if he’s the only guy left in the race or not.
  • Boris Said has the pole for the Pepsi 400 in Daytona this weekend. That is most un-NASCAR name I’ve ever heard.
  • The Boston Red Sox finally lost, ending their winning streak at 12. Waiver wire scrub Jason Johnson is to blame for the loss.
  • Speaking of Jason Johnson, his old team, the Indians continue to flounder. They blew a 7-0 lead by giving up 9 runs in the eighth and ninth innings. The game ended on a walk-off grand slam by Adam Dunn.
  • I can’t understand half the words these English soccer announcers say, but man are they awesome. Bollocks.

Why I like Mexico: Have you seen this group? Angola asked me to play for them and I don’t even own shoes. Rumour has it that its a good place to vacation too.
Why I don’t like Mexico: They are always overrated and choke it out in these things. I once had a bad experience with tequila.
Outlook: Advancing

IRAN
FIFA Ranking: 23
Elo Ranking: 17

Why I like Iran: My old hairdresser was from Iran, and since he left I haven’t found anyone good to replace him. Please come back to me Iranian haridresser.
Why I don’t like Iran: The hairdressers brother once charged me $20 to screw on my license plate, bastard.

Outlook: They’ll beat Angola!! But that’s it.

Why I like Angola: Umm, well that’s a pretty cool flag they have. They’ve done nothing to offend me.

Why I don’t like Angola: They’ve been in this World Cup thing a few times, and never win. Give it up Angola.

PORTUGAL
FIFA Ranking: 7
Elo Ranking: 9

Why I like Portugal: I know some Portuguesse people. They seem to like me. Also because their word for chicken is frangos.

Why I don’t like Portugal: When they lose all their fans automatically become Brazilian. Pick one team and stick with it. Drives me crazy.

Outlook: Mexico should win this pool, but Portugal will advance.
